In Sensual Dance ART, it is crucial that when executing a movement or pose, that it has a beginning, a middle, and an end.
Your performance will look and feel complete, leaving you and your adoring spectators with a feeling of satisfaction… so to speak.
So for example if you want to blow a kiss, then you will want to take note of where the hand that you are using to kiss your lips with is, before you actually bring it up to your lips. This position will be the beginning… then you bring your hand up to your lips, kiss your lips, then blow the kiss to your audience. This is the middle. Now you will want to end this movement by placing your hand back to where it was, or you may choose to place it elsewhere. This will be the end.
Once you have ended your series of movements. You will begin another. The beginning of the next procession will be where the last one ended.
When this “Beginning/Middle/End” formula is not consciously administered, you and your audience will be left with a feeling of shortcomings and frustration at the lack of incompleteness.
On such a primal level, we as humans like to perceive things as complete and/or whole. It gives us a sense of safety and comfort.
You can practice this with different movements. For example waving to your lover, dropping something, then slowly and sensually picking it up, motioning to your lover to come closer, caressing the sides of your body etc… the idea’s are literally ENDLESS!
Be creative! Play with it and most of all have FUN!!!
